His friend and ministry Michael -Liam Neeson- Collins is left alone in charge of the rebellion. He soon understands that the only way to defeat Britain is to begin a guerilla war. I.R.A. murders dozens of english officials forcing Winston Churchill to ask for a negociation. Eamon De Valera, jealous of Collins's new celebrity, sends him to London in order to negotiate the treaty with Britain. Four months later, Collins comes back with a treaty that doesn't satisfy De Valera.
