~ Collins 22 Society Inaugural Conference~
The Inaugural meeting
of the
“Collins 22 Society”
was held on Dec 6th 2002. at Ballingarry, Thurles,
Co. Tipperary,
Gus Maher presided
(The following officers were elected and motions 1 to 5 were adopted)

Committee members
Thomas Hayes,Ballingarry: Pat Mulally, Ballingarry: Pat Walton, Ballingarry: Michael Parsons, Outrath, Kilkenny: Tim Corcoran. Ballingarry.
Motions adopted:-
(1) To perpetuate the name of Michael Collins, to honour his ultimate sacrifice, and to aspire to his life principles,
(2) To encourage the State to honour his memory by erecting his statute on -in the courtyard of Leinster house- by the year 2022
(3) That Fine Gael reflect its roots, by including a Logo/acknowledgement of Michael Collins life on its membership card.
(4) That the spiritual home of the Society is Béal na Bláth

(5) The Society shall
(a) Be non-denominational and non-sectarian.
(b) Abide by the Constitution of the Irish State.
(c) Promote the ideals of Michael Collins.
(d) Propagate his aspirations for Ireland
(e) Be allied Politically to Fine Gael.
