This photo is of a boulder with a hole drilled to a depth of approx 9" and is situated on the side of the road 300 Yards from the monument toward Beal na Blath crossroads. Local folklore indicates that this hole was filled with explosives and primed to explode on the day Michael Collins was shot. The rock was exposed in 2002 during road repairs by Cork Co. Council workers.
