This photo was taken in early October 1922 and appears in the 7th October issue of the Freeman's Journal. For the record, to the right of WT Cosgrave are Ernest Blythe, Kevin O'Higgins and JJ Walsh. Seated to the left of W.T. Cosgrave are Desmond Fitzgerald, Hugh Kennedy(Chief Justice), Joseph McGrath, and the assistant secretary to the government, Michael McDunphy (just out of shot). The secretary, Diarmuid O'Hegarty, had been given the temporary military post of Director of Organisation (which explains the presence of the assistant secretary) and it is interesting to note that McGrath, as well as being Minister for Industry and Commerce, also held the military post of Director of Intelligence which a government memo claims he held until November 1922.
