96 Grafton Street: ( At the corner of Wicklow Street )
Weir & Sons, Jewellers. Michael Collins bought Kitty Kiernan a watch, her
'unofficial' engagement present at this store.

4, Wicklow Street:
Wicklow Hotel, next to Weirs, one building away from Grafton Street, this was
the usual meeting place of Tom Cullen, Dave Neligan, Liam Tobin and
Michael Collins. Paddy O'Shea, from Kerry, was the waiter and often passed
messages. William Doran, the porter, betrayed IRA Volunteers, and was killed
outside the hotel 29-Jan-1921 on Collins' orders. Joe Dolan, a member of the
squad, arrived at the hotel in a taxi, and when Doran picked up the
luggage, he was shot. When Dorans wife put in a claim on behalf of herself
and her children, Collins arranged for her to be paid from Sinn Fein funds,
and they never knew the true circumstances of his betrayal.
